Aggravated Common Assault charge sentenced to a Conditional Release Order and granted Spent Conviction

In 2020, a Chambers Legal client was charged with aggravated common assault against her child. Because the case involved several mitigating circumstances, we submitted to the court that the offence was not very serious and that our client should not be fined.

Our client was sentenced to a conditional release order, meaning that she just had to be on good behaviour for several months. Our client also received a spent conviction, meaning that the offence would not show up on a police check.
